Smart Backpackers Don’t Stay In Hotels
With the increase in the number of lifestyle entrepreneurs across the globe, undoubtedly encouraged by a book written by a certain author (who shall not be named), many people have finally decided to embrace their wanderlust, take to the skies or seas and backpack their way through the world. The internet has made it possible to work from anywhere.
However, it has not, in any way, reduced the costs of travel, accommodation and living expenses that will, of course, arise when you move from one country to the other.
A place to stay has always been a big issue. At the top of the hospitality food chain is a great number of exquisite (and exquisitely priced) Homebush Olympic Park accommodation with a great number of outstanding features such as room service, doormen, taxi service and so on.
These easily draw people in but not the smart traveler. He or she is not deceived. There is nothing free in Freetown and as a lifestyle entrepreneur, racking up heavy bills from hotels is not good for business or lifestyle. Cheaper alternatives for accommodation exist, some of which are:
It’s a lot better than you think. Hostels have gotten a bad rap over the years for basically being an over-congested bedroom filled with smelly backpackers and their even worse smelling feet. These days, however, there are boutiques hostels now with better, more private rooms—and these are definitely a great option for accommodation if you are traveling alone and would love to have your privacy while at the same time, not spending so much on accommodation.
These are great when you are traveling on a budget. Guesthouses could either be beach huts or small houses or little bungalows or just a room in a person’s home. The prices are negotiable and this is a great and affordable form of accommodation when you travel.
A great option if you are in a large group or if you are traveling with family, apartments basically come complete with a living room, kitchen area, rooms and are basically give you the feeling of having a home. In rental apartments, you feel more comfortable and settled than with most of the other accommodation options.
AirBnB is a website where you can find a wide range of accommodation choices from apartments to luxurious houses. You can then rent them for the period of your stay. During this period, your host will basically make himself scarce and you will get the place to yourself. This is another option that provides that “homey” feel.
As you can see, there is a wide range of cheap accommodation options that can suit your needs as you travel from one country to the other. Hotels are not necessarily a bad option, but why buy the cow when you can get the milk for cheaper?
